On grid systems
In the PV systems photo-voltaic modules produce energy as direct current when they are hit by sunlight.
The inverter transforms the direct current from PV modules into alternate current which can be used in your home or in your company, reducing or eliminating the demand of energy from Public Network.
In some countries it is possible to sell the energy produced by PV modules but not used in his own home.
Off grid systems
Off grid PV systems are always made by PV modules which, during the day, produce energy transformed in alternate current by the inverter.
But in this case, PV system is not connected to Public Network. The user’s energy needs can therefore be met by the PV system itself and with the help, for example, of a Gen Set or of a energy storage system.
Energy storage sytems are convenient?

The storage batteries allow you to store energy to be reused later (usually the excess energy produced by the PV system during the day) for example during the evening.
